Major Duties

Under general supervision of the Associate Athletics Director for Marketing, Branding and Fan Development, the Director, Athletics Marketing assists with creating marketing and promotion plans, and marketing game day operations. The incumbent conducts fan-focused social networking, manages ticket operations, oversees spirit teams, helps with department special events, and operates within the scope of the NCAA, Big West Conference and University Athletics Department regulations.
Uses creative abilities to develop and implement marketing and promotions plans to increase fan affinity, ticket sales, and game day attendance, and assists with digital marketing.
Oversees purchases of promotional items, game-day equipment, and Spirit Team operations, and assists with developing strategic plans for overall department marketing efforts.
Coordinates with Athletics Ticket Operations, and acts as the liaison to Associated Students Ticket Office, including season tickets packages, group sales, and community engagement.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field.
Equivalent to two (2) years of full time professional or technical experience in public affairs, media relations, marketing and/or market research.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
General knowledge of practices, methods, and procedures related to public affairs and marketing programs; working knowledge of protocols and institutional etiquette related to public relations; and basic knowledge of applicable copyright and other laws pertaining to written materials.
Ability and specialized skills to: communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; work independently and effectively as part of a team; exercise tact, discretion, and good judgment; handle sensitive and confidential information; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and possess strong computer skills including word processors, spreadsheets, and databases.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
Classification/grade: 0800 / Pub Affairs/Comm Spec / 1
The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $3120 – $3925, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $3120 – $5283 per month.
HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
