RBC Wealth Management

What is the opportunity?

This ISN’T your traditional role! Join RBC and help define our future through your direct involvement with multiple projects aimed at identifying and implementing changes to current business practices and strategies. You will challenge your curiosity and think strategically.

This role encompasses business and financial analyst activities while adding key components such as compiling strategic plans, identifying obstacles to the successful execution of plans, analyzing alternative approaches to achieving business financial and non-financial objectives, and recommending cost-saving or revenue generating opportunities for the business. You’ll extrapolate data to “tell the story” through metrics, heat maps, industry research and your understanding of how the business functions.

This role has daily interaction with the Wealth Management, U.S. executive leadership team. Therefore, you will need strong financial/business analyst skills and experience, and the maturity and confidence to interact with corporate executives and present your view point through supporting data, metrics and other business indicators. Candidates having experience in a large, global consulting firm, preferably within the strategy or finance practice, should find this role to be of high interest.

What will you do?

  • Analyze a variety of complex business opportunities and financial issues. This includes determining the appropriate analytical methodologies, developing and presenting alternative solutions, summarizing results, and making recommendations to assist in managerial decision-making. The analyses may involve, but are not limited to, interpretation of market data and group performance relative to industry peers to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct research on identified needs and business opportunities across the organization, relative to strategic priorities and business objectives.
  • Prepare and distribute reports to business leaders to enhance the decision-making process. Recommend changes in business practices to improve business line profitability using data to support recommendations.
  • Participate in multiple projects aimed at identifying and implementing changes to current business practices. This requires the identification of major stakeholders, contributing to the development of consensus solutions, assisting in the follow-up to ensure that project proposals receive appropriate approvals, using analysis to adjust ongoing earnings expectations, and monitoring projects for successful completion.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of business or financial analysis experience
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical and communications skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Highly proficient with PowerPoint and creating business presentations utilized at the executive level
