Organisational context

As part of UNHCR’s GLDC’s Talent Architect Unit, the incumbent will have the skills to influence at all levels, imparting their digital knowledge and skills in a constructive, empowering, and collaborative way. The Business Transformation Programme (BTP) shall support to improve processes and tools for the teams, and facilitate collaboration, and modernize the way UNHCR works.

The position

The incumbent shall support BTP to build digital transformation capability across the workforce including for senior leaders, design talent development solutions, new processes and technology, methodologies for training coordination across BTP, experiment with new approaches and tools, scaling proven solutions, articulate risk and challenges posed by digital technologies.

Working closely with the GLDC sections, Learning & Integrated Talent Experience Section (LITE), Performance and Career Development Section (PCD), and the Leadership and People Management Section (LPM), the incumbent will support driving the adoption of digital learning, mindset and capabilities.

Duties and responsibilities

  1. Champion good learning practices and advancements in digital learning which can be applied to learning initiatives across UNHCR.
  2. Execute the digital capability development agenda
  3. Collaborating closely with the Digital Engagement team to identify specific gaps in competencies needed to support business goals and objectives of UNHCR’s Digital Transformation Agenda.
  4. Design a range of scalable, effective, and engaging digital learning experiences for UNHCR’s workforce.
  5. Collaborate to enrich existing learning platforms with learning content on digital and new ways of working.
  6. Contributes toward defining the product roadmap for learning systems and driving enhancements through vendor relationships.
  7. Ensure collaboration, knowledge sharing, and digital best practices between partners and colleagues to help embed a robust digital learning ecosystem.
  8. Coordinate with the newly established Regional Talent Support Team in GLDC to ensure smooth alignment between digital learning innovation activities and operations.
  9. Recommend and analyse benchmarks within the Digital Learning Transformation with those of comparable humanitarian organizations/ private sectors companies.
  10. Manage and continue to grow an internal and external digital learning innovation ecosystem.
  11. Identifying new tools – AI (Artificial Intelligence), digital, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) features – that can support, enhance, and improve employee experience.

The ideal candidate will

  • Have 6 years relevant experience with undergrad degree, 5 years relevant experience with Graduate degree or 4 years relevant experience with Doctorate Degree
  • Bring a Post Graduate Degree in Information technology, Business administration, Information Management, Information and Communication Technology, Social science or other relevant field
  • Has proven record of accomplishment of leading successful digital transformation projects
  • Experience from working in fast paced, complex multicultural environments from the UN, NGO’s or from the private sector with time as an expatriate;
  • Knowledge and experience core business processes and associated technical solutions
  • Proven success working with all levels of management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrated multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity in development of recommendations, work tools and recommended approaches
  • Proven skills in data analytics using qualitative and quantitative approaches and visualization,
  • Experience in project management or change management initiatives
  • Client and results oriented individual holding a ‘’can-do’’ attitude and demonstrated active collaborator in the delivery of work objectives, including the ability to work independently
  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, multitask and prioritize under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Experience using Workday or a similar digital cloud platform
  • Be fluent in English and preferably another UN language at C1 level, with advanced writing and editing skills. Additional languages are desirable, but not essential.

Location

The successful candidate will be based with the team in Budapest, Hungary (with possibility of telecommuting).

Conditions

It is a full-time role (40 hours per week).
