Job Description:

The Box Office Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the operations of the Box Office department at Meow Wolf Las Vegas. Major duties include supervision of box office staff and daily box office operations as directed by the Box Office Manager. Reporting to the Operations Director, Revenue, the Box Office Supervisor ensures profitability of operations by effectively managing all business aspects of the front of house operations such as ticketing, guest service, POS, coat check, and supervision of box office staff.

Requirements

I. Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Division and the site specifically
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
  • Encourage, and maintain internal and cross-departmental communication
  • Assist with training staff to provide a memorable and uniquely Meow Wolf level of service to guests
  • Models and enforces proper cash management protocols by delivering POS training to staff and following company policies for cash handling and cash room compliance
  • Assist Box Office Manager with supervision of Box Office Associates
  • Fulfill all Manager on Duty duties, skills, and knowledge, including the ability to perform any role within the Box Office area
  • Assist with recommending, creating, and communicating policies and procedures
  • Maintaining knowledge of events, special programs and projects and communicating them to the staff
  • Tracking fluctuations in visitation numbers and adjusting staffing levels accordingly

III. A. Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience in entertainment/hospitality/operations environment
  • Proven work experience as a Box Office Supervisor or similar leadership role
  • Hands-on experience with ticketing software and point of sale systems
  • Strong customer service skills and welcoming demeanor required
  • An interest in the arts
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Experience training staff and identifying training needs

B. Desired Qualifications

  • Prior work experience in a exhibit, attraction, museum, or other public space
  • Adult + Child + Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification
  • Hidden talents that can be employed as part of the persona including singing, dancing, magic, comedy, conversationalist, impersonator or otherwise
  • Bilingual, especially but not limited to English and Spanish

IV. Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment

This position works primarily in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands

  • Moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
  • Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers

This is a full time position with a flexible schedule which includes weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
