Position Description
MannionDaniels’ Conflict, Environment and Resilience Practice Area engages with governments, donors, and organisations to (1) address the root causes of conflict and vulnerability and (2) have a net positive impact on society, the environment, and local economies by tackling climate change, protecting biodiversity, delivering social value and embedding sustainability. Biodiversity conservation is a critical, if sometimes overlooked, cornerstone of efforts to maintain the health and productivity of the planet. Diverse and resilient ecosystems contribute significantly to the goal of alleviating poverty and enhancing human wellbeing.
We intend to create a pool of Biodiversity Conservation Experts to support existing programmes and business development efforts on a consulting basis when needs are identified. Assignments will be based on requirements and shared with the consultant pool on an ongoing basis. To this end, we are seeking qualified candidates for potential long-term and short-term opportunities in the implementation of biodiversity conservation projects across a range of disciplines relating to terrestrial and/or marine environments including:
- Protected area management
- Natural resource governance
- Community-based natural resource management
- Rural livelihoods and nature-based tourism
- Species conservation
- Law enforcement and combatting wildlife trafficking
- Climate change mitigation and adaptation
- One Health
- Sustainable forest management
- Environmental policy and legislation
- Conservation finance
- Environmental and social impact assessment
- Monitoring and evaluation
Key Competencies
Candidates will be expected to provide technical expertise and guidance across all stages of the programme/project cycle from design and development, through implementation to monitoring and evaluation.
