The Company

IIED is a policy and action research organisation of around 150 staff and a global leader in action for social and environmental justice. We promote sustainable development to improve livelihoods and protect the environments on which these livelihoods are built. We specialise in linking local priorities to global challenges. IIED’s HQ is based in London and has an office in Edinburgh. The organisation works in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and the Pacific, with some of the world’s most marginalised people. We work to achieve impact through a vibrant global network of partners. Most of these operate at the grassroots level of developing countries in communities which are among the most exposed on the planet to the impacts of the climate crisis, global nature loss and rising inequality. We work with them to strengthen their voice in the decision-making arenas that affect them – from village councils to international conventions.
