We are currently working on an AVP Global Markets Documentation mandate for one of our recognized banking clients in the UAE.

The role will cover Global Markets & Treasury activities globally and focuses on negotiating a wide variety of specialized industry-standard documentation (Derivative ISDA Master and Credit Support documents, Derivatives Clearing Agreements, Repo/Reverse-Repo and Stock Loan Agreements (GMRAs), Structured Products Term Sheets, IIFM Islamic Derivatives documentation, as well as any related ancillary/alternative documents (such as Long Form Confirmations, and Novation Agreements), treasury documentation with counterparties and customers.

Main responsibilities:

  • Handling the negotiation of international and UAE counterparty/Customer specialized Treasury documentation (including preparing first drafts, negotiating terms and review proposals for exceptions, reviewing ancillary documents, drafting responses, obtaining approvals, and coordinating internally to successful resolution)
  • Working with lawyers in protecting the Bank’s interest as well as reducing Legal Risk through the preparation of an appropriate suite of documentation to cover all Treasury products and services, while at the same time facilitating smooth Treasury Sales business;
  • Providing guidance to the business on various agreements issued by other Banks, Counterparties, Clients, Brokers and liaising with Group Legal in signing these.
  • Assisting the business in implementing documentation needed for new products and initiatives (e.g. Islamic Derivatives)
  • Navigating new international and local regulatory requirements and changes as they apply to derivative and other Treasury product documentation (e.g. EMIR, Dodd Frank, FATCA)
  • Writing procedure to be followed for closing-out Treasury transactions in the event of Counterparty Default.
  • Providing input from a documentation perspective on special projects such as Collateralization Management Process.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in derivative products and contract negotiation
  • Solid understanding of derivative instruments including interest rate, credit, cross-currency swaps, futures and options, and foreign exchange transactions
  • Sound working knowledge of Treasury counterparty documentation, including ISDA documentation, CSA and GMRAs, Terms & Conditions
  • Familiarity with EMIR/Dodd-Frank laws on centrally cleared swap requirements
  • Understanding of both conventional and Islamic products and related documentation
  • Be detail-oriented with excellent writing, verbal and analytical skills
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with senior management and staff at all levels and external parties
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels with business
  • Strong communication skills
