Department Summary

The work of the Development and Marketing Departments is integral to achieving Search’s strategic objectives. These include amplifying our influence and building up resources, particularly unrestricted income, through trust-based philanthropic partnerships with a diverse group of individuals, foundations and private sector groups.

Responsibilities

  • Performs key administrative duties that support the achievement of the Development and Marketing Department’s goals, including handling physical and digital mail and processing donations, in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • With supervision, provides general administrative support for the Development and Marketing Department’s special projects designed to support the achievement of fundraising goals.
  • Supports donor outreach and engagement to ensure the highest standards of donor-centered care.

Contributions

1. Is the primary person responsible for all Development and Marketing team procurement processes, ensuring that all invoices, payments are properly documented and remitted to vendors promptly. Liaison with the Finance department as needed to complete this task.]

  • Serve as the department audit liaison

2. Drafts and edits internal and external fundraising materials including appeals, donor appreciation and development updates, thank you letters, and special fundraising content (welcome series, interest survey, holiday campaigns, create campaign pages and email copy, etc). Responsible for administrative processing of mail and checks received into database

  • Serves as the primary liaison between the Development, Marketing, and Finance department related to donor revenue processing.

3. Handles mass communications and updates mailing lists and data entry in the donor database.

4. Stores and tracks key documentation, including donation confirmations, thank you

notes, and financial and legal documents related to Search for Common Ground.

5. Coordinates communications, ticket purchases, and attendee follow-up for donor events presented by the Development and Marketing teams.

6. Contributes to reporting for grants administered. Includes writing initial draft, gathering feedback, and project managing the report.

7. Serves as primary resource for operations and logistics for DMC Rapid Response System.

8. Supports process, research, and documentation to maintain compliance with key state and federal certifications to be eligible for giving campaigns.

9. Trains relevant incoming employees in Intacct, the procurement process and other administrative details relevant to their role.

10. Assists the Development and Marketing leadership team in special projects as needed.

11. Infuses organizational values into all work.

12. Other duties that are broadly in line with the above key contributions as assigned.

Education and Experience
Typically BS/BA with minimum 3 years’ experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in financial management, accounting, or non-profit administration.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Usual office environment conditions.
