NRC is looking for an Area Manager to join the Afghanistan mission’s Central and East Area Office. The role holder will ensure high quality and cost-effective programme/project implementation.

What You Will Do

  • Strategy design and implementation.
  • Grants management (grants opening, review, and closure meetings).
  • Project implementation (master support budget, and inputs for donor proposals and reports).
  • Resource and Budget management.
  • Emergency response implementation.
  • Health, safety, and security management.
  • Programme and operational activity coordination.
  • Advocacy management.

What You Will Bring

  • Senior Management experience in a humanitarian/recovery/emergency context.
  • Emergency, Protection, Shelter, WASH, or Food Security technical expertise and advanced knowledge in a humanitarian context.
  • High risk, insecure, opaque, complex, and volatile context exposure, and experience working with displaced people.
  • Afghanistan context and the Afghan humanitarian community response experience and knowledge.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

What We Offer

  • Kabul, Afghanistan duty station.
  • 12-months contract duration (renewable, subjecting to funding and need).
  • 25% travel, approximately.
  • Grade 10 in NRC’s Salary Scale. NRC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
