The Role:
Every adoption saves three lives—the animal that got adopted, the animal that can enter that kennel space, and the animal that can be taken in at one of our central valley partner shelters. If you’re a fast learner, a great communicator, and thrive in bustling environments, this may be the job for you.
Animal and Client Care Associates (ACCAs) are often the public’s first contact with The San Francisco SPCA. Our team facilitates the animal adoption process from start to finish by:
- Matching clients with the best possible new companion
- Counseling clients on elements of medical and behavioral needs of animals
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Processing sales transactions
- Keeping precise records
- Providing impeccable customer service
- Facilitating and participating in open, direct communication throughout the Society
- Embracing and promoting the Society’s direct communication policy
ACCAs are also responsible for advocating for our in-house population by monitoring:
- Husbandry upkeep of the facility
- Apparent signs of medical symptoms
- Apparent signs of emotional distress

- Confident, hardworking, and ready to learn
- Possesses excellent communication and customer service skills
- Brings a very strong work ethic, and the ability to work as part of a team
Requirements:
Schedule: <20 hours/week, 2-3 days/week (1 weekend day required)
Days/Hours: Sunday, Tuesday – Saturday 10:30-7:30
