Overview

The Middle East Research team is looking to recruit a dedicated, enthusiastic, and hardworking Analyst to further its research capabilities, offering and goals. Knight Frank’s research teams are recognized globally for being thought leaders, covering all property sectors, and we wish to further entrench our position in the Middle East with this strategic new role. We are looking for a dynamic individual who has a passion for data, but who can go beyond the numbers and succinctly communicate complex data sets and messages in a way that surprises and delights.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and convert complex data sets into engaging geospatial outputs.
  • Manipulation of complex data sets.
  • Create thought-provoking, data-driven geospatial insights.
  • Work collaboratively with team members in the development and delivery of our annual Research programme, through a data-driven and/or geospatial lens.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to expand our network of clients, contribute to business development, including attending networking and other events as required.
  • Utilize creative methods and custom code to build a database using the available data.
  • Improve existing datasets, with the aim of creating a more robust and reliable database.
  • Incorporate automation into current manual systems (e.g. automatic data downloads).
  • Liaise with other internal departments to coordinate inputs for regular and thought leadership reports.
  • Work across different service lines to capture and analyze our in-house data sets, making the data accessible in an easy to digest format to business stakeholders.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients as a UAE real estate research expert.
  • Ensure highest quality standards in accordance with local and international standards with guidance from the Head of Research.
  • Build and maintain goodwill, confidentiality and trust with prospective and existing clients, as well as all fee earning teams.
  • Identify and seek out relevant geospatial software that will aid your day-to-day deliverables.
  • Keep abreast of key policies/legislation/trends/developments in real estate in the UAE, and regionally in order to provide an informed opinion.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role. Experience within the Middle East real estate sector is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding and appreciation of Middle East macro-economics and drivers of real estate demand.
  • Thorough understanding of key real estate developments across the UAE.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, in both Arabic and English.
  • Strong team player with a proven ability to build internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to create extra research content/nuggets, both data-driven/quantitative and opinion-based/qualitative.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules to ensure successful and timely delivery of projects.
  • Ability to remain flexible to approach and incorporate feedback rapidly from various stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to new technologies and software.
  • Understanding of regional business culture and regulations.
  • Certifications and Licenses: None.
  • Software:
    • Microsoft Office programs, Power BI and Macrobond to a proficient level.
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
    • Advanced proficiency and understanding of ESRI (or similar open source) products, such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcMap, ArcGIS Server or QGIS.
    • Experience in a programming language, such as Python / ArcPy or RPy.
  • Language skills: Bilingual Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
  • Travel: Flexible attitude towards travelling.
