Job Title: Analyst I, Information Security Reports to: Senior Manager, Data Protection and Information Security

Job Summary:

The Analyst I, Information Security is responsible for planning and implementing security measures to protect agency computer systems, networks, and data. The Analyst I, Information Security is expected to stay up to date on the latest intelligence, including hackers’ methodologies, in order to anticipate security breaches. Responsibilities will include preventing data loss and service interruptions by researching and implementing new technologies that will effective ly protect systems, data, networks and maintain security standards. The Analyst I, Information Security, will support the Senior Manager, Data protection and information security in the implementation and execution of the unit Identity and Information Security Strategy and carrying out the organization’s way of handling security.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and evaluate emerging cybersecurity threats and ways to manage them
  • Support security controls implementation, reviews, and reporting as required
  • Implement provisioning and de-provisioning of user access to various enterprise systems and applications. Create accounts, assign permissions, delete accounts, and complete the appropriate modifications when a user’s role changes in the organization
  • Supports all access management control activities across all infrastructure systems
  • Lead and collaborate in the design, implementation, and support of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies
  • Support the enrollment of Multifactor Authentication (MFA), and Single Sign-on (SSO)
  • Lead efficiency improvements by recommending process changes as well as developing solutions to automate and orchestrate repeatable tasks for IAM.
  • Provide expert leadership in defense tactics, and incident response processes and procedures
  • Monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorized, or illegal activities
  • Collect and performs data analysis to ensure compliance with ICT and security controls
  • Monitor and perform internal testing of ICT controls to support internal and external audits
  • Track and manage action plans for the resolution of issues identified during assessment or information security systems audits
  • Develop plans to mitigate security risks
  • Prepare reports that document security breaches
  • Plan for disaster recovery and create contingency plans
  • Update and refresh information security dashboard with service indicators (alerts, incidents, investigations, etc.), performance and trend indicators
  • Develop security awareness by providing orientation, educational programs, and on-going communication to agency staff, and continuously promoting security awareness across the organization

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Required/Desired Foreign Language:

  • English is required, French is a plus

Travel Required:

  • Occasional travel, approximately 5-10%

Work Conditions/Environment Conditions:

  • Telecommuting position with location flexibility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing help desk services
  • Proficiency in the use of help desk tools
  • Strong knowledge of best practices, methods, tools, and techniques used to address information security such as those embodied in ISO 27001, NIST 800 and CObIT
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Any of the following certification is a plus: CAP, CISSP or CISM
  • Good grasp of the technologies in use in CRS

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cyber or IT related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Information Security administration
  • Experience in managing Information Security compliance
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance Center, Microsoft Cloud APP security and Azure Security Center
  • Experience with Privilege Access Management solutions, Least privilege Access Management platforms and multi-factor authentication solutions among other technologies
  • Experience in managing Information Security compliance
  • In depth knowledge of Information risk concepts / relating business needs to security controls
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills, applied with a solution-focused attitude
