The Role

We are looking for Advocacy and Research Coordinator to increase the use and effectiveness of cash and livelihoods policies and programming at national and global level through evidence-based research, policy and advocacy.

What we are looking for

Our next Advocacy and Research Coordinator CLCI will require:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (preferably a social science/research degree, or substantial experience).
  • Experience working with I/NGOs / CSOs; experience in Iraq desirable.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple organisations with varying mandates.
  • Knowledge of Iraq’s political, economic and social setting.
  • Knowledge of relief and recovery programming, including multi-purpose cash assistance and livelihoods interventions.
  • Experience with consortiums or similar operational models desirable.
  • Knowledge of and experience in implementing different research methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to consistently work with a diverse range of stakeholders with tact and diplomacy.
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to work creatively and innovatively with limited direct supervision.
  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to think strategically and prioritize policy and advocacy tasks.
  • Flexible/willing and able to adapt priorities in order to respond to changing demands, including to shifts in organizational priorities.
  • Outstanding English written and verbal communications skills, with an ability to simplify complex concepts both verbally and orally in order to influence others.
  • Experience of providing training and engaging in capacity building activities.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural team, as well as independently.
  • Ability to influence others, excellent social skills and a team player.
  • Readiness to undertake travel.
  • Demonstrated commitment to gender equality.
  • Familiarity with legal protection issues in the Middle East and North Africa region an advantage.
  • Experience in policy change in Middle East and North Africa region/Fragile States context
  • Experience in media and advocacy in I/NGOs desirable.
