Advancement Team Content Officer

Medical Teams International

This position contributes to the calling of the organization by writing and designing donor proposals and reports and other content for use by the Advancement team and other teams as needed, to facilitate the private fundraising of Medical Teams. This role partners cross-functionally with Marketing and Development, US Programs and Field Operations to promote the sharing of programmatic information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create customized donor proposals and reports by gathering information about Medical Teams projects and translating them into donor centric and visually appealing content incorporating graphics and photos.
  • Develop and design donor communications including emails, letters, and collateral in support of the Advancement team.
  • Annually analyze the Love in Action comprehensive campaign Case for Support for needed updates. Execute any design and content updates including working with in-house stakeholders and external vendors as needed.
  • Create and design the biannual campaign newsletter and other campaign content as needed. Execute and/or manage the distribution of the campaign newsletter.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to stay up-to-date on Global and US Programs projects. Responsible for creating and updating SharePoint pages to share key program data and stories with Marketing and Development stakeholders. Create new collateral and update proposals, reports and other collateral with new content.
  • Create and distribute monthly emails for Prayer Team members (and other special emails as required) in collaboration with Global Ambassador.
  • Manage the yearly content calendar for the Advancement Team, ensuring timelines and deliverables are optimized with the Marketing and Developments communications calendar.
  • Provide multi-functional content creation support during disasters.
  • Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies.

Other Duties:

  • When appropriate, incorporate the use of volunteers in daily job functions and manage volunteers effectively.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with all constituents.
  • Maintain donor confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in communications or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in communications or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with Adobe InDesign.

Preferred:

  • 1 year experience with other Adobe Creative Suite applications (Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • 1 year experience in nonprofit work environment
  • 1 year experience with fundraising and resource development.

  • Ability to execute on basic design principles and follow a brand guide.

  • Advanced skills in Office 365 suite: Microsoft Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Teams etc.
  • Moderately skilled with communication software: Teams, Zoom, Internet, and social media platforms.
  • Moderately skilled in Dynamics CRM, Raisers Edge, Sales Force, or other fundraising database
