UN Volunteers

Under the direct supervision of the Child Participation Officer, the National UN Youth Volunteer will:

• Provide technical and operational support to the development / deployment and scale-up of the U-Report platform for the Ukrainian refugee crisis in Romania; this includes facilitating the connection to other refugee response actions and to other U-Report platforms in the region.

• Contribute to the overall quality and relevance of materials by providing translation and proof-reading support but also suggesting a language tailored for the target audiences – children, adolescents, and young people; support for translation will be required when necessary.

• Help in disseminating and promoting the platform, including support to produce communication products, materials, and designs; ensure coordination with programmatic areas specialists (Protection, Education, Health, SBC, etc.) for technical support and guidance on content and approaches.

• Support community management in Ukrainian language for the online platforms used under the U-Report tool; support in establishing and operating new channels (especially Telegram and Viber)

• Coordination of participation from adolescents and children, gathering inputs, ideas, suggestions for the use of U-Report as well as inputs to other relevant programmatic areas (as peers)

• Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Results/Expected Outputs:

• As an active UNICEF team member, efficient, timely, responsive, beneficiary-friendly, and high-quality support provided to our interventions in the accomplishment of her/his function.

• U-Report Romania in Ukrainian language is fully operational and provides the support needed to the targeted community of beneficiaries, including key messages and two-way communication.

• Ukrainian refugee children and young people in Romania are being consulted and actively participate in UNICEF’s work and interventions.

• Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment

• A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed.
