Who you are:

You’re a detail-oriented, analytical thinker committed to strong accounting fundamentals and operations. You’ll have exposure to many different areas of finance and accounting and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, implementing and maintaining controls and preparing financial reports that are accurate and timely.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for oversight of the monthly closing process, operationalizing new accounting events, and bolstering existing processes, process documentation and control standards. You’ll be part of a hands-on, dynamic team and work directly with stakeholders, manage competing priorities and deliver accurate results within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Accounting Director to monitor, adhere to and/or adopt GAAP standards as needed
  • Manage financial closing process – coordination with accounting team and external service providers to receive key inputs and deliver routine reporting requirements
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and schedules for capitalization in relation to developed software, stock-based compensation and commissions (including commission deferrals)
  • Consolidate multiple subsidiaries and reconcile intercompany transactions
  • Oversee the accounting for prepaids, fixed assets, lease accounting, accrued expenses, and other day-to-day matters as needed
  • Enhancing standards for balance sheet reconciliations; this role also prepares reconciliations, reviews reconciliations and assesses materiality of findings
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and regulatory reporting documents
  • Liaise with external auditors and deliver high quality and efficient audit completion
  • Monitor tax compliance, state business registrations, and related compliance filings
  • Prepare various ad hoc projects and requests

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or MBA a plus
  • 8-10 years of progressive Accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Netsuite ERP required
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel required
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce & Concur preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Sharp attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritize and manage timelines to deliver on day-to-day and project timelines
  • Versatile, flexible, and comfortable with the change and ambiguity that may arise in company at Dataminr’s stage of achievement
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty
