An Associate in the Non-Profit Industry Group at Grossman Yanak & Ford LLP performs audit, review and compilation services, and works closely with tax exempt organizations to ensure accurate and timely completion of Form 990. Challenging responsibilities include completing audit areas while adhering to time budgets, summarizing and documenting audit procedures, preparing Form 990 tax returns within specified time budgets, and developing relationships with clients. The individual will be highly motivated, possess strong communication skills and have a high commitment to quality. Essential Functions, Desired Capabilities and Personal Characteristics include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops an understanding of tax exempt organizations and businesses, ensures quality service delivery, offers solutions to identified issues and continually applies the Firm’s mission to all aspects of service.
  • Possesses knowledge and application of relevant professional standards, emerging laws and regulations, and applies that knowledge to ensure that deliverables are prepared in accordance with professional and firm standards.
  • Actively listens to ensure that client issues or concerns are understood and are responded to in an appropriate and timely manner while expressing ideas clearly and confidently, whether in client meetings, presentations, or other written communications.
  • Identifies and prioritizes issues and workload for self; completes work within specified time budgets.
  • Communicates professionally with poise and tact; motivated, ambitious, decisive, a self-starter and committed to high quality work products.
  • Respects and adheres to client confidentiality in all matters.
  • Completes other accounting responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Experience and Additional Skills Required:

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

· Strong academic credentials; 3.0 or higher overall GPA.

· Strong written and oral communication skills.

· Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

· Needs good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
