Role Overview:

As an Accounting Analyst your will assist and work closely with our CFO providing him information, analytics, and financial services to achieve the company’s mission and execute its strategic plan.

This is a great “ground floor” professional opportunity for a highly organized individual who can interface confidently with company leaders; follow instructions precisely; manage time effectively; work discreetly and independently; and is passionate for the chance to build a scalable finance department that can service the future needs of the company. Responsibilities:

  • Help with the monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial accounting close process
  • Maintain general ledger, prepare and input monthly journal entries, review and explain variances from budget and forecast.
  • Manage “Current” accounting items with a high degree of accuracy and commitment to confidentiality, including but not limited to

o Payroll

o Accounts Receivable

o Accounts Payable

o Travel and Expenses (T&E)

o Timesheets

o Corporate card setup, reconciliation and management

  • Assist in maintaining Contracts and Lease Agreements, AR, Revenue, AP and expense analyses
  • Liaise with other company stakeholders in Client Services, Product, and Vendor Management as necessary
  • Ensure monthly revenue and WIP analyses are complete and in compliance with revenue recognition guidance
  • Reconciliation of P&L and B/S accounts in compliance with GAAP standards and guidelines for HarrisX’s Chart of Accounts
  • Assist with year-end audit process review and provide support during both internal, external audits and tax returns
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and documenting procedures for all accounting processes
  • Maintain supporting documentation and work papers for financial reporting deliverables
  • Assist with the budget and monthly executive financial statements and variance narrative as required
  • Assist special projects, as requested

Requirements:

  • College degree with a focus in Business or Accounting
  • Master’s in accounting or finance preferred; CPA with Big 4 or equivalent experience strongly preferred
  • 1-2 years professional experience with a financial services firm or in the accounting department of an organization
  • Proven ability to keep highly sensitive company plans and data confidential
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of obligations coupled with the ability to work well on a team
  • Previous experience with accounting in the market research or software industry preferred
