From 1998 to 2001, Action Contre la Faim-UK had a mission in Cameroon in the Far North region, whose intervention aimed to prevent acute malnutrition, mainly with nutritional education and surveillance activities.
In June 2014, an exploratory mission was carried out by ACF-France, alerted by the large number of Central African refugees who arrived in eastern Cameroon, following the coup d’������tat and clashes between the S������leka and Anti-Balaka in Central Africa. Since that time, ACF has been working in the Eastern Region in the Batouri base, and in the Far North in the Maroua and Kousseri bases���������. The coordination office in Yaound������, the political capital, supports those bases.
The mission currently has 166 employees among its 5 bases including the coordination office; Batouri in the East, Maroua and Kousseri in the Far North, Bu������a in the South-West and the coordination office in Yaound������.
Cameroon is a stable country, the Extreme North region however, gilance with the presence of Boko Haram on the border with Nigeria. At the same time, the North-West / South-West regions are very stable.
YAOUNDE: With a stable security contexts, Yaound������ is a modern town with contemporary establishments (hotels, restaurants, sports halls, and schools ). The international teams are located in individual houses as guest houses, with all necessary basic services (water, electricity, internet) or in hotels (for visitors).
Votre poste et vos responsabilit������s
Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director, your main objective is to define the strategies and coordinate the interventions of Action Against Hunger in the fields of Nutrition and Health in Cameroun.
More specifically, your responsabilities are to:
Design, capitalize and evaluate nutrition and health interventions as well as advocacy actions in your department Monitor and coordinate programmes in the fields of nutrition and health Manage the Nutrition and Health team in capital, and be the Technical/Suppger of the Nutrition and Health Program Managers Develop and launch programmes in collaboration with governmental and local agencies Represent Action Against Hunger and its positioning in the field of nutrition and health Develop programs and advocacy activities, in partnership with national and local actors
Votre profil
You hold a Master degree in Public Health, Medicine, or Nursing, with at least 5 years of professional experiences with NGOs, and 3 years in a similar role.
You are recognized for your technical expertise in nutrition & health programming, and have a consolidated experience in project cycle management, strategy development, monitoring and evaluation, and Assessment/diagnosis of vulnerabilities with a gender and protection approach.
You have a strong ability to provide technical support in project proposal and strong skills in management and staff capacity building.
Excellent diplomacy, negotiation and representation skills (nutrition & health cluster mechanisms) are required.
A proven capacity to work in an emergency context is an asset.
Your English is fluent (spoken and written) and you understand French.
