Job Responsibilities:

Intern candidates must have interest in the integrated marketing communications field, or more specifically social media marketing, and possess good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with others.

The Intern is responsible for assisting with implementing and monitoring social media projects under the direction of the supervisor. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Community management of ADA social media accounts, including influencer outreach
  • Social media content development and scheduling, including organic and paid campaigns
  • Social media listening and reporting
  • Researching changes in social media platforms and algorithms
  • Participation in team brainstorms and meetings.

Must Have:

  • Must currently be a junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • Recent graduates may apply as well.
  • Ability to commit to the internship for at least 10 hours a week, beginning in January 2023.
  • Must have an understanding of the social media landscape, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat and TikTok.
  • Understanding of social media management tools, Sprout Social preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively with a variety of staff within the ADA.
  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines.
  • Must have a solid knowledge of MS Office Suite.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with paid social media campaigns and/or health care marketing through past coursework or other internships is desirable.
