About The Role

The Reuters Integrated Marketing team is looking for a Research Analyst to surface and champion data-driven insights to arm our global Professional Marketing and Sales departments. The Research Analyst is a solution-oriented team player with the ability to deliver compelling research arguments which will help generate revenue.

The Research Analyst will work with the Reuters Sales and Integrated Marketing teams to develop insightful and actionable research to be used in sales strategy and positioning across all brand categories. They will work cross-functionally in the planning, creation and communication of trends and insights through data analysis and storytelling.

The Research Analyst will have experience mining research and analytics data to draw meaningful insights that deliver creative and compelling conclusions and recommendations. This person will be responsible for compiling, analyzing and interpreting marketing research data, writing client reports and constructing analysis for client presentations. The Research Analyst will also serve as a lead in helping craft and execute branding studies for existing campaigns.

The role requires a strategic thinker who can cut through the clutter of information and identify the key findings that will answer client needs, as well as asking and answering questions from research outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Use research to create stories that articulate and demonstrate Reuters audience strength in reaching key demographics versus the international media competitive set.
  • Work and collaborate cross-functionally across the organisation to develop and package insights effectively for internal and external use.
  • Work with Sales team to understand specific advertiser objectives and produce compelling research arguments that deliver against these needs, demographics and geographies – to support client and proactive pitch proposals.
  • Support the Sales team by troubleshooting complex audience inquiries from clients and agencies, through detailed data analysis.
  • Work with the wider integrated Marketing team to agree propositions and convert insights into persuasive communication messaging.
  • Be a creative thinker who can turn insights and trends into compelling and creative stories by leveraging primary and syndicated data sources
  • Research, analyse and report on changing consumer behaviors and media industry trends
  • Serve as a liaison with the data and insights team in NY to help support content recommendations
  • Respond to RFPs and manage day to day requests from start to finish
  • Support the execution of primary research studies
  • Help provide strategic sales positioning to differentiate Reuters.com and audience in the marketplace
  • Liaise with third-party data providers and vendors
  • Lead client campaign effectiveness research studies pre, during and post campaigns

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience within a data/research role, ideally within the media industry
  • Successful candidate must be a strategic thinker with a strong interest advertising/media research and consumer insights
  • Data storytelling ability
  • Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Focused on cultivating and growing strong internal and external relationships
  • Flexibility to work effectively under pressure, within a group or independently
  • Curious about consumer behavior and media usage
  • Capable of handling multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Act proactively to anticipate and deliver on sales requests and client needs
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately with excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Extensive knowledge in digital and/or social syndicated research surveys and tools, including IPSOS, GWI, Google Analytics
