This is a full-day event being curated by Nerius Shah, Vice Chair Student Council NSU and TEDxNorthumbriaUniversity Licensee; and Neeranjan Chitare, Secretary TEDx Society NSU and Co-organizer TEDxNorthumbriaUniversity. It will have an elite audience of about 100 people; our goal is to unify bright minds to give talks that cover a wide range of subjects, aid in learning, promote inspiration, and provoke meaningful conversations.

Your idea will be recorded in front of a live and online audience and will be published on official TED platforms. Just as with all speakers, we would work together ahead of time to guide you in the process of finalizing your talk. Your talk should be at least 10 minutes in length, but no more than 18 minutes. Please fill in the speakers’ application to take a part.

In Addition, to put on an event of this magnitude, it needs an army of passionate, creative, and can-do people who do everything from guiding people to their seats to controlling cameras and handling the check-in desk. Like every TEDx event around the world, we’re a bunch of motivated and passionate people from all walks of life with one thing in common: delivering a brilliant ideas event.

You’ll earn valuable professional experience working on a live, high-profile event as a volunteer. You’ll expand your professional and social network, serve as the face of our event, and very likely meet some amazing new people. The members of the TEDxNorthumbriaUniversity team will achieve promotions and bold career moves, citing their work at this remarkable evet as a sign of their transferrable talents, enthusiasm, and adaptability. You will get a chance to be featured on official TED platform as a part of organising team!!!

We have many voluntary positions open – for these, you don’t need any experience – above anything else, the thing we’re looking for most is passion and enthusiasm. If you do have any specific experience or you would like to gain some in a particular area, there are opportunities for the following:

Website/Design Team

Event Planning Team

Speakers/Review Videos Team

Sponsorships Team

Technology/Production Team

We understand that your spare time is precious, so we’ll be upfront with you about what minimum commitment we’ll require. Putting on an event as big as TEDxNorthumbriaUniversity takes a lot of time and hard work so all we ask is that you’re able to meet your minimum commitment.

Think about your passions and choose an area you’d love to volunteer in. What activity is really going to sustain your interest, particularly on those late nights when it would be much easier to be sat in front of the TV? Not only will we get the right volunteers for the job, but you’ll get more out of it on a personal level.
