This is a highly independent role where the candidate needs to demonstrate great abilities to be able to support several important Marketing, Social Media and PR tasks and pro-actively come up with ideas and suggestions of how marketing and social media can contribute to drive more revenue to our hotels. It furthermore serves the needs of the business, our guests and our colleagues by leading a well-documented supportive role of the Sales & Marketing Department for the Minor Hotels. Achieving own results set by the General Manager and to contribute in achieving results for marketing and sales colleagues.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Minor Hotels employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

  • Direct support to the Director of Sales & General Manager
  • Indirect support to regional Marketing, Brand Social Media and PR
  • You will be responsible for creating social media campaigns and the day-to-day management of the company’s social media properties. Your passion for social media as a communications tool will result in the adoption and implementation of social media best practices across all social media channels.
  • Developing social media content plans that are consistent with the company’s brand identity.
  • Creating consistent, meaningful content on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, improving customer engagement, and promoting social media campaigns.
  • Managing a high volume of daily social media posts.
  • Communicating with social media followers, including responding to queries in a timely manner.
  • Developing and managing social influencer programs and attending social influencer events.
  • Using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite Pro, and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate the company’s social media presence and performance.
  • Preparing monthly reports on social media marketing efforts.
  • Suggesting recommendations to adjust the social media marketing strategy for optimal results.
  • Staying up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media.
  • Lead, Implement and co-ordinate marketing and social media communications for tactical sales and marketing actions
  • Managing the image library banks for the hotel.
  • Reporting on PR activities/ coverage in local and international media
  • Participating in and recording media engagements and building the internal media database
  • Co-work with Regional Director of Marketing & Communications to plan and undertake familiarization trips with pre-selected media and trade
  • Copywriting and proofing of marketing & sales materials
  • Lead enhancements / changes to the company’s website, as directed by the Regional Director of Marketing & Communications/DOS
  • Managing sales brochure features following approval from DOS
  • Co-work with Regional Director of Marketing & Communications and PR and advertising agencies to ensure conformity to company budgets and standards when implementing promotional, sales, marketing and communications strategies
  • Lead and manage the database for the company’s clients and suppliers (trade/media/consumer) for statistical, sales and marketing purposes
  • Maintain records of marketing department expenditure and process purchase orders with approval by and on behalf of DOS and Regional Director of Marketing & Communications

Other Duties And Responsibilities

  • Perform general administrative office duties as and when needed
  • Independently respond to emails, letters and general correspondence pertaining to sales and marketing-related matters
  • Arrange and co-ordinate meetings, appointments
  • Taking minutes for internal meetings and the distribution thereof if necessary
  • Lead and manage hospitality functions, also after hours and on weekends
  • Lead, manage and co-ordinate participation in trade and consumer related events
  • Pro-actively ensure all sales and marketing related presentations used by the office adhere to brand standards
  • When required, assist sales and marketing team members with specific tasks and projects
  • To attend meetings and tradeshows where necessary
  • To undertake trips in terms of the company’s marketing strategies when required
  • To attend functions and events from time to time which may occur during or after working hours

Qualifications

Required:

  • Extremely well organized
  • Commitment to excellence and willingness to learn.
  • Being curious and independent.
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Hospitality Background is an advantage

Preferred

  • Social media skills and/or love of social media and marketing
  • Understanding of social networking and social media best practices as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.
  • Communications, advertising or PR major preferred
  • Graphic design skill is a plus. Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator preferred ( if you do please provide portfolio)
  • High level of creativity
  • Be independent
  • Experienced in dealing with Model, entertainment people and influencers is a plus
