Schenck Process

You will join the “Patent and trademark” team, which is part of the Corporate Technology (CTE) group function. This Intellectual Property (IP) team is responsible for handling all major IP issues for the entire Schenck Process Group. The IP team reports to the Chief Technical Officer of the Schenck Process Group and together they actively manage Schenck Process’ IP.

  • You are responsible for the full range of services in intellectual property such as:
  • Identifying of patentable inventions
  • Liaising and working with inventors
  • Liaising with external IP counsel
  • You define, obtain and enforce legally valid industrial property rights (patents, trademarks, utility models and designs) worldwide in accordance with the business needs of Schenck Process Group
  • You prepare expert opinions and evaluate of Schenck’s own and competitor third-party IP rights prior to the launch of new products and large-scale technical processes, as well as in the processing of research projects; IP-related review and clearance of brochures, packaging and publications
  • You participate in and, if necessary, initiate the development and implementation of intellectual property strategies
  • Internal advices to inventors and development/marketing teams, e.g. on research, cooperation, licensing and non-disclosure agreements and on the calculation and negotiation of inventor compensation is in your responsibility

Qualification:

  • Successfully completed studies in either electrical engineering, physics, computer science or a related discipline with admission as patent attorney
  • Alternatively you have a successfully completed qualification as professional representative before the European Patent Office
  • Team player with an Integrative personality and strong communication skills as well as collaborative spirit in an international environment
  • Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
