An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Verification & Test Engineer (f/m/d) to join Rolls-Royce Electrical in Cottbus.

Rolls-Royce Electrical (RRE) is responsible for developing world class electrical technologies and products, as well as the associated integrated power generation and propulsion turnkey systems. RRE is rapidly extending the company’s capability in the electrical domain and will play an increasingly important role in all our businesses as we move forward towards our Net Zero goal.

Our recently opened office in Cottbus supports the development and research programmes in Civil and Electrical Aerospace in key Engineering disciplines. This office is also our link to the Centre of Hybrid Electrical Systems Cottbus (CHESCO) and the research partners Brandenburg Technical University (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg, DLR and Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive use of Systems Engineering and Structured Verification Engineering methods and tools to develop, establish and implement verification and compliance strategies in support of TRL demonstration, Flight Test and Certification.
  • Plan and own experiments, associated instrumentation and hardware requirements for the (hybrid) electrical propulsion system and component development program in support of the verification programme.
  • Define test equipment requirements in support of experiments (Technical Requirements Document) and support SPTE design gates in support of provisioning the facility to execute the tests.
  • Define Test Execution instructions, Qualification Test Plans in support of Test.
  • Support Risk Management Review of Verification programme.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Engineering Degree in Electrical; Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Technology or similar qualifications.
  • Good understanding of the System Engineering and/or Verification processes/methodologies, as well as Electrical Machines, Electrical propulsion systems and Subsystems.
  • Good Understanding of certification requirements.
  • Proven team working capabilities, likes to smile and willing to work with a fantastic team of validation & verification engineers.
  • Excellent command of English.
