The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Humanitarian Information Professional to ensure quick and coordinated federation wide information flow at times of emergency, build internal and external profile of ActionAid’s emergency work. The role holder tracks and shares humanitarian information, promotes learning, and coordinates relevant groups and networks internally and externally.

Location: ActionAid(AA) Global Secretariat (GS) Hub in Johannesburg/ Nairobi or an AAI Country Office

Contract duration: Permanent

Entry Salary: Grade C ( local term and conditions apply)

Who we’re looking for:

With at least two years plus experience in in a similar role preferably in a multi-country setting environment, you should also have demonstrable experience in the areas of information management & communication in a humanitarian context. You should also have strong commitment to ActionAid’s values and ethos

Your proven knowledge and experience in developing information systems will be an asset including ability to effectively communicate and influence a range of audiences with skilled use of intranet & content managements systems. The role also expects experiences of using e – communication platforms.

You should have a strong ability to work in a multicultural context/environment to engage in social justice activism/advocacy and demonstrate innovative practices while having a sound understanding of current humanitarian systems, trends and issues. The role requires an excellent team member individual who can work under pressure in emergencies with ability to think and plan strategically.
