Working Hours: 37.5 per week full-time

Salary Band: PO1-PO2 £36,774 – £41,383 per annum

For over 40 years, across nearly 50 countries, Action Against Hunger has led the global fight against hunger. Our mission is to save, improve and protect lives by eliminating child hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, especially during and after emergency crises caused by situations of conflict, displacement, poverty, discrimination, inequalities or natural disasters.

Action Against Hunger is an international humanitarian and development network consisting of legally independent Members (currently seven) that decided to work together to foster international cooperation, maximise efficiency, and bring coherence to their activities in order to fulfil a common vision of a world free from hunger.

The International Executive Secretary is a new position, designed to support the International Executive Committee (IEC) efforts to steer and optimise the performance of the network governance, including International Management Groups (IMGs) and international functions.

Key responsibilities include:

• To set up more efficient and consistent ways of working at international executive level (including co-ordination and servicing of meetings)​
• To be a contact person between the IEC, the International Functions and IMGs.
• To support the IEC’s strategic thinking and decision making

The successful candidate will be highly organised, IT literate, with excellent communication, negotiating and facilitation skills, both written and verbal, and with a high level of tact and diplomacy. Experience of working in an international network or organisation (NGOs or private), substantial experience of providing senior level executive support, together with an ability to offer solutions to complex situations are essential.​
