The NCR Professional Services (PS) Project Management Team provides direct support coordinating implementations across different NCR software solutions.  All of our projects are unique for every type of project according to the customer and type of implementation (including upgrade, net new or providing direct consultancy).     

We are looking for an accomplished Project Manager to join our Professional Services Team.  As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for management of project implementations ensuring delivery and acceptance of high-quality solutions delivering projects of varying size and complexity.  In this exciting role, you will work with NCR and customer resources to perform project reviews, accomplish the tasks defined in the project plan, manage day-to-day project activities, and serve as NCR’s single point of contact with the customer.  You will work with leading system platforms and technologies, from ideation through to completion, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and the goals of the business to achieve results.

Specific Responsibilities Include

  • Ensure projects are completed on-time, within budget, and within customer expectations of quality and functionality.
  • Prepare and maintain a detailed project schedule and play a lead role in scoping, planning, costing, and pricing projects, responsible for statement of work development and risk assessment.
  • Manage customer acceptance of the solution, ensuring customer expectations stay in line with the agreed statement of work, taking the lead in working through all issues and action items.
  • Coordinate the establishment of a project environment that includes preparing and maintaining a roles/responsibility matrix, personnel plan, and resource schedule for each project member.
  • Measure, track, evaluate and communicate progress against the Project schedule using project reports including project financials and project reporting compliance and governance.
  • Contribute to building the business case and measures that prove out the ROI/business value proposition of the enhancements. Using recommend process and system improvements to coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensuring technical feasibility. Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Author a weekly status report that is distributed and reviewed each week with the end user (Customer) in status meetings.
  • Tool usage will include but is not limited to MS Project, PSA, Excel and MS Word and will be executed using standard NCR formats and templates.
  • Ensure execution and accuracy of monthly forecasts, billings along with the managing procurement and payment of contractors.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field
  • 8 – 10 years of project management experience
  • Adaptable – Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change. Accepts and adapts to new or alternative approaches
  • Experience at working effectively in challenging solution implementation environments
  • Experience managing complex, technology projects
  • Innovative and resourceful. Develops new approaches for situations in which standard approaches do not apply
  • Strong client-facing, internal and external, written, and verbal communication skills. Including stakeholder and vendor management.
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail, multi-tasking skills, and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Must be able to Travel approximately 30% based on client need and geographical location. Travel will vary based on the project assignment.

Preferred Requirements

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent.
  • Agile/Scrum certification or equivalent.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the retail industry and business.
  • Change management experience.
