Selected individuals will start at the Analyst I level and will immediately enter a rotation through approximately five finance teams spending about six to nine months learning and contributing in each
The American Red Cross is seeking a Finance Analyst I to participate in a rotational program.
- The Geographic team that supports the finances of our local regions;
- Program lead functions such as fundraising, disaster, or IT;
- Biomedical (focused on blood products) operations and supply chain finance team;
- The Biomedical recruitment and collections team.
During the rotation, the analyst will also receive advice from a mentor who has achieved significant success in the finance industry as well as formal and informal training from a variety of sources including volunteers, employees, and internal educational opportunities. After completion of the rotation, the analyst will be placed with a team for at least one year based on the needs of the finance department combined with personal preference. This is a virtual opportunity with regular east coast working hours.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting and documenting simple to moderate financial analysis projects.
- May help develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control.
- May provide monthly revenue and/or expense analyses and reports.
- May monitor operating budget process and allocations. May provide analysis to determine present and future performance.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial policies, procedures, and systems.
Qualifications
- Candidate is pursuing (with a close expected graduation date), or has completed an Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or other degree involving significant quantitative deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience – 1 year minimum – CPA may be preferred. – Accounting or financial management and analysis experience required.
- Experience using large scale automated financial systems (Oracle) preferred
- Working Conditions: Operational flexibility may be required to meet business needs.
For those candidates located in Colorado, the salary range for this position is: $55,000 – $60,000.
