We have an excellent opportunity for a Administration Assistant to join our team at Berry View Children’s

Home.

Hampshire County Council has embarked on an exciting new strategy, combining our residential services to deliver

quality experiences for children in our care. We work closely with children aged 10-17 to support their social and

emotional development, create new opportunities that deliver positive experiences and encourage healthier lifestyles.

We have high aspirations for them and we encourage them to regain their self-worth, recover from their experiences

and get their lives back on track.

You will keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes, reducing the administration burden on your colleagues.

The more efficient and effective your contribution, the more our team can focus on the children and families. Joining

this busy team you will carry out a range of administration duties including; co-ordinating the basic administration

function, providing data to Team managers, maintaining HR spreadsheets and responsibility for petty cash claims.

You will be undertaking work which is confidential, demanding and at times, emotionally challenging but always

rewarding, which requires effective communication skills, and a sensitive approach.

Role Responsibilities

To develop and implement a comprehensive, effective and efficient administrative support service to meet

business requirements.

Take minutes of weekly and monthly meetings, including Young People’s meetings.

Co-ordinate and produce statistics for Health & Safety meetings.

Record sickness absence and provide relevant target information to managers.

Assist in the input of IBC orders and petty cash control as requested by the Registered manager.

Maintain HR spreadsheets, ensuring they are up to date at all times.

Co-ordinate HR/Training process for staff.

General stationary management and orders on IBC and stationary control.

Respond to general administration requests.

Provide cover for reception and other administrators in their absence.

Essential Qualifications, Skills And Experience

GCSE (or equivalent) level A-C, (including English and Maths)

Previous general administrative experience with specific experience where appropriate.

Computer literate in the use of a variety of software for data handling and transmission.

Where Appropriate, Specialist Training And Qualifications.

Effective communication skills at all levels.

Working Conditions In This Role May Include

Manual handling of objects up to 5kg, more than once a day

Display screen equipment user
