With double digit revenue and EBITDA growth, this organisation has doubled in size over the last 2 years and have experienced consistent year on year organic and acquisitive growth and has a strategic vision to continue this growth in the coming years. Within the next 3-5 years, they have plans to triple in size.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to an entrepreneurial and highly influential Financial Controller, this Financial Accountant will support the delivery of major finance objectives as the organisation aims to continue its aggressive growth journey. Working closely with an impressive leadership team, you will be instrumental in working cross functionally with the business. This role will be critical in ensuring the company employs robust operational, budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes and delivers accurate and comprehensive reports and analysis to internal and external stakeholders.

This is a critical role to assist in driving the business through its aggressive hyper-growth ‘expansion phase’ whilst implementing best practice processes and procedures throughout the finance function. You will act as the “confidant” and “right hand person” to the Financial Controller.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working in partnership with the senior finance team, your key responsibilities as the Financial Accountant will include:

  • Support and delivery of month end closure procedures to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Financial reporting in accordance with Statutory requirements;
  • Support the Financial Controller with the management of the year end audit;
  • Support the accountable for all direct and indirect tax lodgements, compliance and reporting including workers compensation lodgements and payroll tax.
  • Support the Accounts Payable function (Overall responsibility for Invoicing, Credit Notes, Reconciliations);
  • Support the Accounts Receivable function (payment allocations, reconciliations; processing of payments from customers);
  • Bank reconciliations, cash management and forecasts.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

You have at least 2-5 years’ experience in a transactional Accounting or Assistant Accountant/Financial Accountant position. You are either already CA/CPA qualified or working towards completion. You possess month end experience and feel comfortable managing P&Ls. You have a deep desire to progress your career into a more commercial and analytical path. In addition, you will have:

  • Ability to understand the financial accounting process and how data flows in the system.
  • Highly developed written & verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively manage a wide range of key stakeholders.
  • A positive attitude with the hunger to achieve great results.
  • Resilience and the ability to bounce back under pressure.
  • A team focus with the ability to handle tasks in a timely manner with the quality expected in a large business environment.
