Reporting to the Director, Hardware Revenue and IFRS, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following

  • Managing wireless inventory reporting, controls and associated transactions
  • Managing month-end close for wireless equipment by collaborating with Finance Operations and various other teams to ensure all general ledger journal entries are posted accurately and on a timely basis
  • Ensuring account reconciliations are accurate and any issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensuring all SOX controls in areas of responsibility are operating effectively
  • Developing and enhancing/automating processes, reporting and controls
  • Supporting wireless inventory policy reviews and maintenance for the Communications group
  • Collaborating with Supply Chain, Retail Operations and various other teams on transactions relating to inventory
  • Leading and developing 2 direct reports
  • Assisting Director on various initiatives impacting wireless equipment (e.g. new business initiative impact analysis, unusual/complex transactions accounting research/assessment, investigating issues)
  • Supporting system implementation/updates which includes, but is not limited to participating in cross-functional working sessions, requirements development, design review, test case development, functional and regression testing
  • Liaising with external and internal auditors on quarterly reviews, control testing and year-end audits

What You’ll Bring

  • >5 years of progressive experience in an accounting environment
  • Designated accountant (CPA) or equivalent experience with strong technical accounting skills
  • Experience with internal controls/SOX
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical skills and proven ability to produce high quality work while prioritizing multiple activities concurrently
  • Experiences with process/report/control development and improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop an effective team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel
  • Experience with SQL, SAS, Access, Power BI and other data analytic / automation tools is an asset
