Kvinna till Kvinna is in an exciting phase of implementing few regional Women, Peace and Security programmes with over 15 women’s rights organisations from all over the South Caucasus region. Kvinna till Kvinna were established in the region more than twenty years ago and is now one of the leading international feminist organisations working here.

Today we are one of the world’s leading women’s rights organisations, working directly in areas affected by war and conflict to strengthen women’s influence and power. We work closely together with over 150 local partner organisations across 20 countries to end violence against women, reach lasting peace and close the gender gap once and for all.
About the job
Kvinna till Kvinna has supported women’s rights organisations in the South Caucasus region since 2002 through a regional office in Tbilisi. Kvinna till Kvinna believes that no one is better placed to create lasting change in the South Caucasus than strong, local organisations, movements, and individual activists that effectively represent their constituencies. Kvinna till Kvinna seeks to advance women’s rights in the region through partnership, provision of financial and moral support, as well as through convening and strengthening networks, and undertaking critical, feminist analysis and advocacy efforts.
Today there are seven colleagues in the South Caucasus office of Kvinna till Kvinna, based in Tbilisi. We support more than 15 women’s rights organisations across the entire South Caucasus region.
As Regional Director you are responsible for the strategic development of the Kvinna till Kvinna work in the region, and overall responsibility for developing and managing the strategy and the programmes in the region in accordance with Kvinna till Kvinna’s mandate, policies, and practices.
You will manage the team and have the overall administrative and financial responsibility in the region. You will be Kvinna till Kvinna’s official representative in the South Caucasus and responsible for keeping up-to date information of the political, conflict and security situation in the region. This also entails networking and maintaining relationships with relevant international and national stakeholders, including authorities and donors and developing and maintaining partnerships, first and foremost with women’s rights organisations.
As Regional Director you are based in Kvinna till Kvinna’s regional office in Tbilisi, but you are part of the Programme Department management team at the Head Office in Stockholm, and report to the Head of Programme.
About you
To be successful in this role, you are an experienced manager and a strong leader. We believe you are collaborative, team-oriented and can motivate others, foster dialogue and facilitate discussions. Your work is strategic, goal-oriented with the ability to prioritize and delegate, but you can dive into details when needed.
You have experience in managing change and you are someone who enjoys building in a changing organisation, including programmes and structures. You are responsible and flexible with strong gender, conflict and cultural sensitivity and communication skills. You enjoy liaising with like-minded organisations, donors, and women’ rights actors, and you feel confident in representing the organisations in external setting.
Needless to say – you are engaged and interested in women’s rights and share our values.
You need to have
- Several years of relevant experience. This includes managerial experience leading staff and management of programmes of similar size and focus.
- Experience of:
- development cooperation work in the South Caucasus or similar context;
- knowledge in one or more areas of peace and conflict, gender equality, and/or development studies;
- working with or in conflict affected countries with security issues;
- operational development requiring analytical and strategic skills, including project management, follow-up; evaluation, assessment and reporting, especially results-based management, and quality assurance.
- Administrative and economic tasks with high computer literacy.
- The ability to travel within all contexts in the region
- A minimum of a BA University degree in relevant field
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in English and Russian.
- Valid driver’s license

This is a national full-time position, under Georgia labour legislation, with a probationary period of 6 months. Candidates must have the right to work and reside in Georgia.
This position is based in Tbilisi, Georgia but through regular digital meetings, we stay in touch with our colleagues in the region and abroad. Your role may include occasional/frequent travel, especially within the South Caucasus.
Our working week is 37.5 hours; these working hours are flexible and goal oriented. We also apply a hybrid working model
