Grant Operations Adviser (Maternity Cover)

Do you have experience of coordinating grant agreement and procurement contracting processes? Have you worked within a similar charity environment with an understanding of our humanitarian context? Do you have excellent judgement with the ability to apply risk management and compliance requirements?

Elrha is now seeking a Grant Operations Adviser to join our friendly team on a 1-year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, to start as soon as possible.

This is a great opportunity to develop your experience of contracting and procurement whilst contributing to Elrha’s organisational priorities. The role requires significant autonomy and sits within a supportive team, interacting closely with colleagues across the organisation as well as external stakeholders.

The role is responsible for leading contract negotiations with potential grantees and monitoring and advising on donor compliance requirements within the scope of grant management. The role also provides advice and guidance internally to support process improvements and to ensure smooth and efficient processes relating to procurement, grant agreements, contract management, donor compliance and other related matters.

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience of administering contracting processes in an international development context
  • Experience of contributing to process improvements
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and workflows simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills with experience of working with multiple stakeholders

Qualifications relevant to law, procurement, compliance or another related field would be advantageous, as would prior experience working in international NGOs or research institutes.

Short-listed candidates will be asked to complete a practical written assessment by email during week commencing 12 June 2023 to inform selections for interview. Interviews will then be held week commencing 26 June 2023.

Salaries and benefits

Jobs are positioned within the salary structure based on evaluation. New employees will usually be appointed at the bottom of the advertised range. However, relevant desired experience a candidate brings to a role may also be taken into account when determining the appointed salary. Elrha is committed to paying staff in a fair and equitable way and will benchmark all salary offers in line with the pay of existing staff.
