As Vehicle System Engineering Intern, you will be part of a specialist team that connects the aspects of design and manufacturing to increase manufacturing efficiency. The team has a wholistic view on the car on a system level, supporting different teams with requirement cascading, GD&T development, setting processes and fixture & gauge concepts. During the ramp up the team is also deeply involved in trouble shooting design and manufacturing issues. The team is involved in all aspects of manufacturing, from stamping, casting, injection molding, body in white, paint and general assembly.

What You’ll Do

As Vehicle System Engineering Intern, you will:

• Get a deep understanding of GD&T, DVAs, Craftsmanship and vehicle manufacturing process.
• Design & build fixture prototypes and do trials to prove concepts and processes.
• Learn how to operate and maintain 3D-Printer (FDM & SLA).
• Conduct detailed CAD studies and review 2D Drawings, to understand manufacturing and design requirements.
• Work with PLM system, monitor design changes and quality tools e.g. JIRA.
• Closely work with design – and manufacturing engineering teams.

What You’ll Bring

• Fluent spoken and writen English & German.
• Currently working towards a degree in a relevant engineering program such as Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechatronics.
• Excellent organizational, numerical and analytical skills.
• Technology fluency and ability to operate within internal business systems and MS Office with advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Project, and MS Visio.
• Proficiency designing in a 3D CAD software (CATIA proficiency is a plus).
• Experience creating engineering drawings (GD&T experience is a plus).
• Excellent grasp of engineering fundamentals.
