Required – High School Diploma, or equivalent

Preferred – 2-year associate degree from accredited program/institution, or two or more years of college – level course work in a related field

Experience : Required – a minimum of 1-year related experience and/or training

Preferred 2 Plus Years Related Exp Erience And/or Training

Supervises: Unit Managers

Summary

The Zone Supervisor ensures proper supervision and appropriate behavioral limits of children by taking reasonable action to carry our responsibilities and ensuring the safety and well – being of each child in accordance with federal and state standards and requirements.

Essential Functions

To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodations in accordance with the American s with Disabilities Act of 1990:

  • Supervise the unit managers assigned to this position and solicit ideas from providing constructive feedback to all supervised staff regarding work habits, communication and safety.
  • Mentor and a ssist new hires and coworkers during the general observation training period.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with agency policies and procedures and contract and regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Frequently transverse from on e area of the physical plant to another.
  • Meet all deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners.

Measurable Deliverables

  • Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
  • Report all serious incident and daily activities to the Administrator on Duty.
  • Assist with the development of shift schedules and staff assignments to ensure the safety of the service populatio n and coworkers.
  • Monitor, coordinate and delegate daily facility operations tasks as needed throughout the shift.
  • Know the procedures for and monitor proper dispensing of non – prescription medications when medical staff are not on duty.
  • Supervise the genera l interaction of the service population by promoting positive interaction between children, encouraging children to take on responsibility in the daily routine.
  • Plan, organize and supervise activities for children in accordance with the daily activity sche dule.
  • Identify routine maintenance work/repair and report it to the Administrator on Duty.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings, in – service training and team decisions.
  • Assist in the household laundry of linens, children’s clothing and routine cleaning of bed rooms and living areas.
  • Ensure that records regarding clothing and personal items are maintained and updated in inaccurate and timely manner.
  • Assume responsibility for scheduling air and ground transportation of the service population when needed.
  • Work eve nings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.
  • Implement BCFS safety protocols including evacuating with the children and other staff in case of an emergency.
  • Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outl ined in BCFS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.

Credentials, Skills And Abilities

  • Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to: ☐ First Aid ☐ CPR ☐ Emergency Behavior Intervention ☐ Other: _______________________
  • Pass a pre – employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre – employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to:
  • Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio – economic characteristics
  • Working in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times
  • Organize and prioritize responsibilities and duties efficiently.
  • Maintain computer literacy required to the meet the respons ibilities of the position.
  • Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Residential Services policies and procedures.
