Yard Operative

We are currently seeking a Yard Operative to join our team based out of Aveley. Working as part of the depot-based maintenance team, you will be supporting our depot operations by preparing our assets for hire and will also be responsible for the preparation of plant equipment. You will assist in loading/unloading vehicles (where appropriate) and completing any supporting paperwork, which will result in an asset that is fit for hire and is aligned to Explore Plant and Transport Solutions standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Completion of all asset cleaning & preparation activities, identifying damage to the relevant person where appropriate.
• Maintain records of any work completed (PDI etc.) and any supporting processes.
• Delivery of continuous improvement projects/actions.
• Adhere to all Safety related documentation.
• Perform cleaning and preparation of plant equipment.
• Take ownership of the quality and productivity of all work undertaken.
• Complete all necessary paperwork as requested, including PDI.
• Support stock take of materials.
• Manage on-site repairs (as required).
• Comply with company procedure when checking plant in and out of the yard.
• Report any faults with the plant to your line manager.
• Ensure the yard and wash bay are kept clean and tidy daily.

Qualifications

Preferred

• Full UK Driving Licence.

Relevant CPCS (or Equivalent) On

• N132OK – Plant Mover – Non-Operational Duties (Other / Ride on Roller).
• N132BE – Plant Mover – Non-Operation Duties (Earth Moving Equipment / Wheeled Articulated up to 15T).
• N132BJ – Plant Mover – Non-Operational Duties (Earth Moving Equipment / Tracked Over 10T).
• N010J3 – Telescopic Handler All Sizes Excluding Slew (Please advise at point of development of new requirement if additional attachments are needed) (CPCS is acceptable format A17C).
• N001B1 Counterbalance Lift Truck up to 5 Tonne.
• Marshalling / Banksman Training or Accredited such as NPORS N133 Plant Machinery & Vehicle Marshall.
• Slinger / Signaller (A40A).
• CPCS Slinger Signaller – A40D: Slinger Signaller course for 360 Excavators only / A40E: Slinger Signaller course for Telehandlers only Either Red Trained or Blue Competent Operator (The equivalent would be NPORS N402S Slinger Signaller).
• NPORS / A50 Accredited.

Experience

Ideally have a plant background with an excellent understanding of heavy plant machinery ranging from excavators, telehandlers, dumpers & rollers etc.
