The Client Advocate is the primary client contact and responsible for all aspects of successful placement results and service delivery. This includes crafting strategies for clients to quantify, mitigate, and transfer risk. The Role
The Client Advocate is a senior-level account management/client-oriented role responsible for providing strategic relationship management and consultative services to our clients. The Client Advocate is responsible for marshalling WTW resources to provide coordinated service and placement activities that meet the client’s insurance and risk management needs, as well as ensuring that relevant regulatory and technical standards are met. The Client Advocate leverages an advanced skill set and superior knowledge to consult with clients on their risk profile and corresponding insurance coverage; uses their understanding of clients’ needs to expand business opportunities and further solidify client relationships. An ability to focus on delivering exceptional customer service while working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision is a must.
Essential Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
Proactive and positive management of WTW’s business relationship with clients.
Coordination of and responsibility for the comprehensive delivery of WTW’s service to the client and ensuring the integrity of this service at all times.
To identify, engage and integrate delivery of all WTW internal resources to deliver on the client experience.
Provide strategic planning and consulting advice to clients; monitoring insurance and risk management needs in collaboration with WTW resources, practice groups and industry groups.
Recommend appropriate solutions throughout the policy term (including acquisition due diligence).
Design, prepare, negotiate and deliver fee/compensation agreements to clients.
Drive the RFP response process, including review, identification and coordination of line of business groups, and proposal ownership.
Design and deliver full client presentations/proposals, client advocacy reports, client service plans and schedules.
Increase the profitability of the client account and ensuring retention of that business over time.
Build and develop insurer relationships in collaboration with our broking teams.
Actively expand existing client relationships and assist with the preparation and delivery of our value proposition on new business.
Lead by example and provide a strong role model and influence on others for best client relationship management practices.
Serve as a mentor to account managers and other colleagues.
Contribute to the revenue growth of the WTW geography.
The Requirements
10+ years of insurance experience in a client-facing role
RIBO required
Post-Secondary or industry-equivalent designations
In-depth knowledge of the commercial insurance renewal process
Able to apply knowledge of coverages in the analysis of program design, the identification of coverage gaps, and ongoing coverage consultation
Strong relationship management skills: able to leverage internal and external relationships to bring WTW resources to bear that are tailored to client needs; ability to drive conflict resolution
Negotiation skills: able to develop innovative and creative solutions to conclude complex placements
Business acumen: knowledge of strategy and tactics to arrive at positive solutions for the client by optimizing use of the insurer marketplace
Specialized industry knowledge in at least 3 segments is desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; group presentation skills, ability to drive complex/technical conversations
Effectively advocates for change; provides encouragement, takes control of team projects, leads key work areas, collaborates with others, and provides clear guidance to ensure others fulfill roles effectively
Excellent project management skills; end to end oversight of large, complex, ambiguous or multi-dimensional projects
Competency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
