Working Student – Content Creation

ABOUT THE ROLE

Blinkist helps more than 17 million people discover insightful and enlightening content. Our library of Blinks, Shortcasts, and Audiobooks is growing ever bigger – and that’s where you come in. The Content Creation team creates the world-class nonfiction content that is released in the Blinkist app every day. To ensure the stability of our production system and to continue improving our foundational content formats, we are looking for a working student who can support us with administrative and production tasks.

Main Location: Berlin or remote from Germany

Hours: Flexible, up to 20 hours/week

Reporting to: Ruth Scherer

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Support the team in maintaining production schedules and administration
• Take ownership of uploading tasks and schedules; prepare files for uploading
• Work with a team of freelancers and external production partners
• Communicate deadlines
• Produce written and audio content
• Help organize and update a file management system
• Bring in your ideas to improve processes

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

• You’re studying at a university in Europe and will be enrolled for at least one more year
• You speak and write German fluently (C1/C2) and your English is at least on a level of B2/C1
• You have a passion for nonfiction books and audio formats
• You achieve thoroughness and accuracy in your work, minimizing the risk of errors and inconsistencies
• You communicate with care and clarity. You don’t shy away from discussing and resolving conflict and tensions
• You take initiative. You act with confidence and work under your own direction
• You are self-aware and dedicated to self-improvement, ambitious, and proactive. You can admit to mistakes and learn from them
• You can work effectively as part of a (remote) team on achieving shared goals, and you put the group’s interest before your own
• You love to bring your own creative ideas

YOUR ATTITUDE & MINDSET

We’re looking for someone who is a fast learner with a passion for (nonfiction) books and audio content. You bring a proactive attitude to your work, and you’re an excellent team player. You possess strong communication skills. You have experience writing or editing scripts – bonus points if you have worked on an audio format before. Spreadsheets and data don’t scare you; you’re comfortable working with them. Further, you’re relatively self-organized and would feel comfortable setting development goals for yourself and your role. We want you, our working student, to take ownership of your domains.

This experience will not only give you a firm understanding of how we create our Blinks, it will also give you the opportunity to drive your own small projects. If this sounds like you, then come this way!
