Job Purpose
The White Helmets (WH) seeks a passionate Women Empowerment Projects Senior Officer to lead the establishment and the operations of women community centers in northwest Syria. These centers provide a safe space for women to engage in self-development and empowerment activities, fostering resilience and rebuilding lives. As the Senior Officer, you’ll design tailored programs, conduct advocacy work to amplify women’s voices, and contribute to their empowerment.

Responsibilities
- Develop objectives and implement plans of women empowerment and women engagement.
- Coordinate the establishment and operationalization of the WH women community centers, ensuring they are equipped with essential resources and facilities.
- Collaborate with women-led and local organizations to assess needs and design appropriate programs and activities for the centers.
- Lead focus group discussions to identify key activities and ensure the programs align with the actual needs of women in the region.
- Regularly design tailored trainings, workshops, and awareness activities to address the specific needs and challenges of women in northwest Syria, promoting self-development and empowerment.
- Facilitate and deliver these trainings, workshops, and awareness activities, ensuring they are engaging, relevant, and impactful.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Supervise and provide guidance to project staff, ensuring effective implementation of activities.
- Foster partnerships and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including community members, NGOs, and international organizations and associations.
- Prepare regular reports, capturing project achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
- Stay updated on relevant women empowerment initiatives, best practices, and innovative approaches to enhance project effectiveness.
- Help amplify the voices of women in northwest Syria by engaging in advocacy work and raising awareness about their challenges and achievements on local and international platforms.
- Coordinate with the communications team to gather and document compelling stories and testimonies from women beneficiaries, highlighting their resilience and achievements.
- Represent the White Helmets in all events related to women empowerment.
- Provide technical assistance and capacity development to project staff and partners.
- Develop and share timely and effective delivery of the project.
- Provide inputs related to women empowerment advocacy campaigns and activities.
- Participate in the different relevant meetings.
Note: the above-mentioned responsibilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department’s organizational chart or title.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
A. Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Women’s Studies, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Fluency in English and Native Arabic.
- At least three years’ experience in project design, implementation, management, monitoring especially in the areas of women’s empowerment and intersections of violence against women, gender equality.
- BBR (Building Better Response) training certificate.
- At least 5 years in humanitarian sector in projects Managing.
B. Desirable:
- A master’s degree is preferred.
- It is preferred to be certified in PMD PRo1.
