The Women���s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) is a partnership between the United Nations, Member States, and the civil society, which supports women led and women���s rights organizations working to build peace and provide humanitarian response throughout the world. Since the end of 2016, the WPHF has been supporting over 300 civil society organizations and is present in 26 countries.
UN Women hosts the Secretariat of the Women���s Peace and Humanitarian Fund. The WPHF Secretariat provides support to the Funding Board, mobilizes resources from Governments, companies, foundations and individuals, provides day to day support to Country Offices implementing WPHF programmes, ensures timely and quality monitoring and reporting, and amplifies the work and impact of WPHF grantee partners around the world. In April 2020, following the recommendation of the UNSG in his 2019 report on WPS, the WPHF Funding Board established a new Rapid Response Window (RRW) on women���s participation in peace processes, including a Rapid Response Window Unit, to be hosted by the WPHF Secretariat.
Under the direct supervision of the Communications, Advocacy and Knowledge Management Specialist of the Women���s Peace and Humanitarian Fund ��� Peace and Security and humanitarian section ��� the Audio Visual & Multimedia Consultant will lead the creation of new audio visual, graphic design and multimedia content for the various social media and web channels of the Secretariat of the Women���s Peace and Humanitarian Fund, including the RRW, targeting a wide range of audiences to contribute to the enhanced visibility and global reach of WPHF���s activities, projects, partners and impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
Against this background, WPHF seeks to recruit an Audio Visual & Multimedia Consultant who will contribute to the following deliverables:
Support WPHF���s global communications team with the creation of new audio video, multimedia and graphic design content to enhance visibility of the Fund, including the RRW, across its digital platforms Lead the production and editing of videos, moving graphics and other engaging content reflecting the impact of WPHF programmes and beneficiaries. Execute professional graphic design to produce a range of multimedia content for the Fund���s social media and web channels, including graphic design of communication assets (invitations, save the dates, quote cards) for events Coordinate with WPHF program and communications colleagues to capture video interviews and photos from civil society grantees that accurately and compellingly communicate WPHF activities and impact Support the development of visual social media assets for campaigns and events in multiple languages, in collaboration with the WPHF Social Media and Content Management Consultant and the WPHF Communications, Advocacy and Knowledge Management Specialist Support in the systematization and organization of all WPHF video, multimedia and graphic design assets Support the wider WPHF team, including the RRW, with all graphic design and formatting needs Support the wider communications needs of the WPHF team, including the RRW, as necessary
The Audio Visual & Multimedia Consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Communications, Advocacy and Knowledge Management Specialist of the Women���s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) and under the overall guidance of the Head of the WPHF Secretariat. The consultant is expected to give regular progress updates on each of the deliverables to the Communications, Advocacy and Knowledge Management Specialist.

Strong understanding of and experience producing video and multimedia assets for social media platforms Proven experience developing visual assets, content and storytelling for social media channels Exceptional video production, editing and graphic design skills Strong editorial judgement, including ethical and political awareness Very good organizational and time management skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize functions to deliver on responsibilities and meet deadlines Strong understanding of visual content, including on how it can be produced and best leveraged on social channels by influencers Strong awareness of digital, design and storytelling trends.

A first-level university / technical degree or equivalent experience in communications, video production, multimedia and graphic design. 5 years of demonstrable experience working in video production, editing, multimedia and graphic design to clearly communicate impact of mission-driven actors across nonprofit and private sectors. Experience producing audio visual and multimedia content to effectively and clearly communicate issue areas related to international development, women���s rights, women, peace and security / humanitarian issues or related fields. Proficiency in cutting edge video production and graphic design techniques and related applications such as Adobe Suite and Premiere Pro. Experience in project management, pre and postproduction of visual content to amplify the impact and voices of project beneficiaries Knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic is an asset.
