42 Wolfsburg is a recently launched, disruptive higher education NGO/start-up educating 600 students to become cutting-edge techies and software engineers in a practice-based peer-learning environment. 42 Wolfsburg is based on the internationally successful concept of school “42” which was funded 2013 in Paris and today trains 10‘000 students in 33 schools, world wide. At 42 Wolfsburg we set out to educate the next generation of German software engineers to build the digital (mobility) infrastructure of our societies – this means meaningful work, excellent career opportunities and lots of responsibility.

Our brand-new campus is located in the heart of Wolfsburg in the Markthalle. On-site presence is required for this position.

Tasks

As Welcome Manager you’ll be literally the first person our students and visitors see when they come to the Markthalle. Your mission is to make everybody feel at home instantly while managing check-in procedures and being available for regular requests. You’re having an eye on the school environment and make sure, everything is in a working condition. You’ll also manage consumable supply on a day to day basis. As Admin Support, you’ll help us navigate paperwork and everyday formalities.

You’re both a great host and a meticulous manager of processes. Your responsibilities include:

  • Greet and check-in visitors and students
  • While we are still under the influence of the pandemic, make sure our check-in processes are carried out and documented
  • Be available for student’s and visitor’s questions
  • Manage mail and deliveries
  • Greet subcontractors and lead them to their place of activity (e.g. for repairs)
  • Have an eye on the overall school building and make sure things are clean and intact
  • Help with administrative processes of the school (e.g. scan mail, help with paperwork, managing supply)
  • Make sure, everybody is safe and call assistance when needed

Requirements

  • Front-Desk experience or a strong interest in hospitality
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and can do attitude; ownership of tasks and projects;
  • Balanced and patient character
  • Effective and charming communication skills in English and German
  • Solid experience in text processing, spreadsheets and calendaring
