Water Resources and Infrastructure Associate – US-based Remote
Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for a Water Resources and Infrastructure (WRI) Associate. Associates in Tetra Tech’s International Development practice support a portfolio of projects Tetra Tech implements around the world on behalf of its clients. They work with a diverse and dynamic set of team members to contribute through new business development, project management support, and technical expertise in a field relevant for Tetra Tech’s practice areas.
The Associate, WRI, will join Tetra Tech’s Water Resources and Infrastructure (WRI) Sector and will work on both program implementation and new business development, primarily on USAID-funded projects. This position is preferably based in Arlington, Virginia or Burlington, Vermont, with consideration of remote work from other US-based locations.
Responsibilities:
*Support project management and contract oversight and management and strong financial management oversight
*Identify, pursue, strategize, and lead the preparation of proposals for water security, water resources management, water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programming and municipal infrastructure services;
* Assist in the identification of prospective clients and strategies to apply and share knowledge, including writing position papers and coordinating marketing efforts;
*Travel regularly to provide technical assistance to projects, provide management and training support to project staff (including startup and closeout)
*Represent Tetra Tech International Development to clients in the US and other countries;
*Provide technical advice and solutions to proposal development and projects in other sectors such as Agriculture and Economic growth and Environment and Natural Resource Management.
Qualifications:
*Minimum of master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, water resources management, international affairs or policy, economics, or another related field;
*Minimum of five years of professional experience required, with strong client, supervisor, and peer recommendations;
*Minimum of three years of experience in project management support and/or technical assistance programming in developing and transitioning countries or fragile contexts. While experience backstopping projects with intermittent overseas travel is acceptable, experience living and working overseas in a cross-cultural context is preferred;
*Demonstrated technical depth and qualifications in relevant technical areas including but not limited to rural water and sanitation service delivery, water utility management and operations, water/sanitation sector reform, citywide inclusive sanitation, integrated water resources management, and water security;
*Strong knowledge of international donor projects required; USAID project management experience preferred;
*Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural teams – within the Home Office and based in project offices – with strong written, oral, and presentation skills;
*Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written deliverables, with prior successful experience writing complex technical proposals preferred;
*Fluency in English required, advanced proficiency in French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic preferred;
*This position requires frequent international travel (20% – 30%);
*U.S. work authorization required.

Pay Transparency Statement:

The anticipated pay range for this position is 70,000-121,000 USD annually.
