Water Insecurity and Climate Policy Coordinator

The Role

Oxfam International Secretariat is looking for a Water Insecurity and Climate Policy Coordinator to support Oxfam’s global policy and advocacy work on the impacts of the climate crisis on water and hunger in humanitarian contexts. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing an international advocacy strategy to improve access to water and water security in humanitarian contexts most vulnerable to the climate crisis, overseeing the development of at least 2 advocacy reports, and overseeing the creation of other advocacy materials.

Who we’re looking for

• Someone with experience in advocacy or influencing, including experience planning, implementing, and evaluating advocacy projects.
• Someone with experience working on water and/or climate change in humanitarian contexts.
• Someone who organizes work effectively, ability to develop and deliver on own work plans, and who works effectively across a large, complex, and diverse organization to deliver tangible results.
• Someone with strong research skills and an ability to analyse and translate evidence for use in influencing, as well as with strong analytical and writing abilities, including the ability to adapt writing styles for specific audiences.
• Someone with demonstrated experience influencing and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, internal and externals including government, civil society, and nongovernmental organizations.
• Someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Someone with the ability to multi-task, work flexibly, and meet tight deadlines.
