Reach Volunteering
What will you be doing?
Our programme of youth work opportunities will give you the opportunity to stretch your experience, skills and confidence as a Youth Worker, whether you can commit to one session or several across a week in term time. Most of our sessions happen late afternoon / early evening, with only a couple happening later. You will be supported to develop and gain training in areas including safeguarding, health and safety, food hygiene, and and first aid, as well as mentoring from the project staff and Operations Manager.
What are we looking for?
We have a place for anyone experienced in youth work, whether gained through employment or through volunteering.
Anyone thinking of applying should be honest, committed, friendly and approachable, not overbearing, willing to adapt and learn different approaches to youth work. You must be in sympathy with the Christian faith background of the project, but there is no expectation that you should have any faith or beliefs.
What difference will you make?
You will bring your experience, skills and knowledge to the project to inspire and encourage our other volunteers. We do not expect perfection, but the right attitude and commitment to see the young people thrive. We never give up on a young person, so we will support them to be the best version of them they can be.
Together we will see young people overcome isolation, mental health, issues around identity and find there place in society, improve their life skills, confidence, and willingness to positively impact their community.
Before you apply
Please apply through Reach in the first instance and we can arrange an informal chat with our Operations Manager.
