What will you be doing?
The Video Producers will support the delivery of the BCI Communications Strategy through the creation of video content. With a strong eye for visual communications, the ideal candidate should have a passion for generating interesting content. The Communications Officer – Creative Lead will support the Communications Manager – Digital Creation as well as the Communications Manager – Social Media & Content.
What are we looking for?
Your Responsibilities Will Include
To support the implementation of the BCI Communications strategy;
To raise the profile of BCI among relevant audiences, both within and outside the climate change policy community;
To conceptualise video content based on storytelling requirements for various communications activities including public relations, social media, website and newsletters;
To create motion graphics and animation videos based on the script and discussions with other responsible officers
To illustrate sketches for approval
To create engaging and on-brand audio-visual content (eg. video explainers, interview features) for a variety of media;
To support BCI external and internal events including major industry events such as COP26.
Skills & Abilities
Wide degree of creativity and a good grasp of storytelling;
Proven understanding of communication channels (e.g. media outlets, social media);
Demonstrated flexibility;
Strong attention to detail;
Excellent organisational skills and ability to balance competing demands under pressure.
General & Specialist Knowledge
Understanding of graphic design foundations e.g. typography, layout design, grids
Excellent working knowledge of industry-standard design software and tools including Adobe After Effects, Animate, and Photoshop, Toon Boom
Good experience of working with Motion Graphics and Animations in a wide range of After Effects plugins, like; Trapcode suite, Plexus, GeoLayers, Element 3D
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and G Suite, and prior experience using communication channels such as Slack;
Understanding of social media management tools.
Bonus
Experience working with Cinema 4D, Blender, Houdini, Premiere Pro
Education & Training
A relevant degree or experience in video creation and editing.
Relevant Experience
Proven relevant position in an organisation;
Experience of working in a target-driven role;
A portfolio of strong visual communications work;
Experience working independently and with teams to drive forward projects using own initiative.

These are two hot topic groups that have been headlining media outlets, dominating conferences & events, and gaining increasing traction in research and pilot projects. BCI is here as an expert platform to help governments, inter-governmental and regional organisations as well as relevant corporates to negotiate the complex landscape of emerging technologies for environmental good. We cement our expertise by putting in the hard work in researching, identifying and analysing the applications of emerging technologies so that informed decisions can be made by the stakeholders in the climate change and action network.
The BCI Communications team aims to tell the BCI story and our role in driving innovation to mitigate climate change and create a cleaner and greener future. As a think-tank and advocacy group for such a major issue, we understand the importance of being a credible expert and advisor which is why it is essential to demonstrate our research-driven approach to the relevant stakeholders.
