What will you be doing?
We are therefore looking for individuals with any of the following skills, life experiences, and interests/expertise
- Finance/Commercialisation skills – we are particularly keen to work with people who understand how to operate within a commercially astute, but not- for- profit environment
- IT strategic support
- HR/Delivery skills
- Governance and general board experience
- Understanding of race and other diversity issues
- Links into networks and other sectors that will support and develop our work
We hold four Board Meetings per year and we also have sub-committees responsible for HR, Quality and Finance which also meet four times a year. It is hoped that successful applicants will agree to sit on a sub committee relevant to their skill areas.
Crossroads Gloucestershire is based in Cinderford within the Forest of Dean although there is also a Gloucester office. Trustee and Committee meetings would normally be held in either of these locations, although with current Covid 19 restrictions, meetings are held via on-line technology.
This is a rewarding volunteer role and is not remunerated although mileage expenses are reclaimable. The appointment will be for a period of three years with extensions of tenure in line with Charity Commission guidelines.
With a turnover of circa £2.3m currently you would join us at both at an exciting and challenging time as we grow the organisation in terms of expanding both our services and our geographical coverage.

Out mission is the provision of high-quality support services to enable those people, in particular but not exclusively, who are in need by reason of frailty, ill-health, or disability and their carers to lead safer and healthier lives. Support is provided in a variety of settings using person centred activities so that loneliness and isolation are minimised, and quality of life is improved thereby enabling people to remain in their own homes and communities for a long as possible.
