What will you be doing?
We are looking for a trustee to assist our Board to see the bigger picture; bring a fresh perspective to business strategy, support the organisation’s structures and organisation.
This is a voluntary role for a three-year period, with a three-year extension subject to satisfactory performance and the Board currently meet a minimum of four times a year + AGM.
What are we looking for?

Generic
- Analytical and evaluation skills, demonstrating good judgement.
- Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- A team-oriented approach to problem solving and to management.
- Experience in a leadership role.
- Experience of working within the charity, voluntary and public sector.
- Commercial and/or governance experience.
- Excellent networking skills, influencing and communication skills.
Essential
- Someone with business development background.
- An understanding of the UK charity sector, or willingness to learn, good governance, Charity Commission, Companies House requirements, relevant legislations and statutory requirements.
- An understanding of the challenges facing small to medium UK charities in structure and organisation.
Desirable
- Digital and media knowledge.
- Knowledge of the voluntary sector.

What difference will you make?
We are currently looking to expand our board of trustees to increase our diversity and to ensure we have the right team to meet future challenges and opportunities. We are particularly looking for applicants with skills and experience in finance (Treasurer), law, business, health and well-being, fundraising/income generation and marketing.
The majority of our team have been with the charity from the outset and whilst this is admirable, are keen to see what the charity could do with a wider skillset. Like many charities we have been directly affected by the Covid19 pandemic, so this is another reason to search for the skills and expertise to help lead the charity forward.
