Reach Volunteering

We are looking for a team of Social Media experts to create, maintain and manage our online presence and engage with our audience over our social media platforms.

What will you be doing?

You will be working from home and from our base at SEIDs, creating, maintaining and managing our online presence and engaging with our audience over our social media platforms.

The volunteers will need to understand the purpose of the organisation and our current projects and work with the CEO and Founder to create an exciting online presence that the wider community will recognise as being undoubtedly UpReach in the Community.

The selected volunteers will be asked to help the CEO/Founder with the following

  • Create awareness and increase the social media presence of UpReach and our current/upcoming activities through all social media accounts
  • Grow UpReach’s online audience organically
  • Share relevant content and online articles and schedule posts
  • Interact with ‘followers’, ‘friends’ etc
  • Promote UpReach’s services to potential customers, clients, business partners, students for the purpose of collecting contact details and facilitating future business

What are we looking for?

We are looking for the support of creative and organised individuals who have the ability to create and maintain a social media platform, attract a new and relevant tribe and engage with online members of the UpReach Tribe.

Our ideal Volunteer Social Media Content Creator will have experience of the following

  • Social media post creation
  • Creative writing skills (content creation/blogging)
  • Visual thinker – knows how to translate goals into designs that are compelling, clear, visually exciting and emotionally engaging
  • Determined and resourceful problem solver
  • Experience creating content for digital social media platforms – Instagram (Instagram Stories and IGTV), Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube
  • Experience with Canva or another suitable design tools

All volunteers …

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and remotely
  • Ability and willingness to help youth volunteers gain skills in this arena
  • Pays attention to detail
  • Has a positive can-do attitude

What difference will you make?

Youth unemployment is set to reach an all time high due to COVID-19 and excess competition in the job market. Through our UpSkill Yourself programme we give some young people in Brent the opportunity up-skill themselves while aiding in the delivery of an internet radio show addressing UK education and the issues that effect a child’s educational attainment.

The gift of your time will not only help with the management and maintenance of our social media platforms, it will also help each young person gain the skills required to bolster their skill set and CV as part of the current project we are preparing for.

This project is two-pronged

  • We will be providing a much needed Educational based internet radio show where we will bring the discussion around UK education and the issues that effect a child’s educational attainment into the household so that the family becomes the primary focal point in helping the child succeed at school.
  • The radio show will be predominantly created by Brent residents for Brent residents, specifically engaging young people with the focus on helping them to create more positive opportunities for themselves (during this pandemic and beyond) and steering them away from inactivity and antisocial behaviour.

You will need

  • a CV and covering letter detailing why you would like to work with us
  • a current and valid DBS certificate as you will be working with young people (we can apply on your behalf)
  • 2 references validating your past work history and personal character
  • attendance at our Information Day scheduled for April 2022
