Rebuilding Alliance

We learned early-on that to build in war-torn communities one must partner locally with non-governmental organizations that hold the trust of the local community and maintain the highest standards of fiscal and personal integrity.

Everyone who works at Rebuilding Alliance is committed to building peace and justice through programs that make a tangible difference and together, we do our best to make RA a great place to work. Many who have joined RA as interns or in entry-level jobs have gone on to their dream-job or pursued advanced degrees.

One of our past interns wrote the following

“I always talk about interning with Rebuilding Alliance as one of my most important, challenging and formative work experiences, especially when I’m in interviews. You asked and expected big things of me right away, and I’m so grateful for that – coordinating a teleconference series, making phone calls to important peacekeepers, offering insights in team meetings, updating our internet presence. These are skills that I value so highly, and that I’m sure will be so important as I enter this industry that is entirely new to me. I would also like to stay in touch with you and Rebuilding Alliance and help in any way I can in the coming years, whether through donations or volunteering my time when I’m back in the Bay Area.”

In the past month, we’ve met nearly 100 Congressional offices and discussed ways to safeguard the rights of Palestinian groups and communities. As our advocacy work grows, we need interns for our advocacy team.

Through our advocacy campaigns, we update Senators and Representatives on the looming humanitarian and security crisis throughout the West Bank and Jerusalem, and propose remedies that can safeguard Palestinian communities. We also mentor constituents who hold advocacy briefings with their Senators and Representatives. Wondering if our approach works? Yes, it has kept many Palestinian villages – al-Aqaba, Susiya and al-Khan al-Ahmar – standing.

We are running several advocacy campaigns at the moment and seeking interns to join our team. This opportunity is an excellent next step to build your career in public policy, government, peace and conflict studies, journalism, and communications.

The ideal candidate enjoys working as part of a team, doing research, scheduling, reaching out to constituents and organizing them on various calls, keenly interested in peace, justice, and the Middle East. In addition, you must have excellent writing skills, be willing to dedicate 4 hours per day, organize data, be able to meet deadlines and work well both individually and as part of a team. We’re especially interested in candidates who would like to stay with us for at least 6 months.

If you are interested in joining our advocacy team, please send an email to [email protected] with (1) your cover letter describing why you are the right person for this position, (2) a resume, and (3) 3 references.
